How to Operate a pleasure boat

Fishing on a lake is one of humanity's most primal activities. Our ancestors from way back in time fished as a means of feeding themselves and their families. Now, we often fish for recreational purposes. Whatever your purpose is, follow these steps for operating a pleasure boat.

1. Always consider safety first. Each passenger needs to have a life jacket.

2. Think about the conditions under which you usually operate your pleasure boat. If you fish early in the morning, store a light source on your boat.

3. If you operate the pleasure boat in a colder climate, be sure to have extra cold weather clothing on board.

4. It is always a good idea to have extra first aid supplies with you.

5. When you go out for a day in a pleasure boat, be sure you have adequate sources of hydration and nutrition. Even in cooler weather, you will need to replenish lost fluid.

6. Be sure to have a container on board for holding any items you may use on the pleasure boat such as inner tubes.

7. Always carry extra sunscreen on your pleasure boat.
