How to Change the Default Media Folder on Your Creative Zen MP3 Player

Using your Creative Zen MP3 Player, you can manage your audio collection in many ways. You can view songs by artist or album, and you can decide when and how they’re downloaded. This article is about where songs are downloaded to. Here’s how to change the default media folder on your Creative Zen MP3 Player.

  • Creative Zen MP3 Player
  1. Step 1

    Connect your Creative Zen MP3 Player to the computer that you want to transfer media from. Use the USB cable provided with your Creative Zen MP3 Player upon purchase.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the My Computer icon.

  3. Step 3

    Locate Creative Media Explorer, the program that allows you to manipulate your music transfers. This will open a window showing the files and folders on your Creative Zen MP3 Player.

  4. Step 4

    Choose which folder you want to move your media to. This will become your new default media folder.

  5. Step 5

    Deactivate your player when you're finished transferring music and designating folders. Do this by right-clicking on the player's icon on the taskbar and selecting “Remove Hardware.”

  6. Step 6

    Turn off your player and disconnect it from your computer.
