How to Change the Recording Settings on Your Archos Gmini MP3 Player

One of the more popular features of the Archos Gmini MP3 Player is its recording capability. You can record using either the player's microphone or its Line In jack. But before you record, follow these instructions to change the recording settings on your Archos Gmini MP3 Player.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Archos Gmini MP3 Player

Step1
Power on your Archos Gmini MP3 Player.
Step2
Click the Settings icon. Select "Recording" from the next screen of options. You will see the Recording Settings menu.
Step3
Choose the default settings for each time you make a recording. Once set, these settings will automatically apply to every recording you make.
Step4
Choose whether you’ll be prompted to give the MP3 a title, an artist or album name when you make your recording.
Step5
Choose whether you want the default source for your recording to be from the microphone or the Line In jack on your MP3 player.
Step6
Choose the recording quality of the line-in recordings. You can choose a bit rate of either 32, 96, 128 or 192 kB/s (kilobytes per second).
Step7
Choose the recording quality of the microphone recordings. You can choose a bit rate of either 16, 64, 96 or 112 kB/s.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make a test recording to familiarize yourself with the recording mechanism before attempting to create your final file.
