How to Have a Costume Contest

This kind of contest works for any occasion where your guests arrive in costume. Feel free to change the rules to fit your peronal style.

Karaoke Costume Party Contest

1. To make it easier for everyone, print or write all of your guest’s names on slips of paper before they arrive. This way, everyone can easily identify each other and write down who came dressed as which famous singer.
2. Have your guests guess who everybody else is dressed as by writing their answers on slips of paper.
3. Tally up the answers. The person with the most correct guesses for their costume wins a small prize.
4. Gift cards for coffee or music work well as prizes. Or you can buy prizes in the theme of your party, such as margarita glasses for a beach party.
5. You can also change the contest to create different categories, such as “most creative” and “best dressed.” People can nominate their favorite costume for these awards.
6. Be sure to have lots of prizes on hand for your guests but try to set a limit on how much to spend on each prize.
