How to Score Prestige Points in Dead Rising

Your character Frank, the consummate paparazzi, is always looking for ways to advance his career. There are several ways to do so, all of which earn you Prestige Points, or PP. Earning PP is like earning experience. The more PP you get, the more levels you gain, the more health and inventory slots you get and the more skills you acquire. Here are the best ways to earn PP.

1. Help people. Rescuing survivors is probably the best way to earn PP. Each survivor will net you several thousand PP. As you progress through the game, you will receive messages from your allies that tell you where survivors are located.
2. Take pictures of survivors. Whenever you get survivors to come with you, there will be a brief moment when "PP" flashes above their heads. This is your chance to snap a picture and grab that perfect shot! The flashing PP can also appear if the survivor is engaged in some particularly interesting activity. Keep your eyes open and be fast with the camera.
3. Take pictures of zombies. Right in the beginning, before the zombies are let into the mall by the careless lady trying to get her dog back, there is a golden opportunity. With thousands of zombies scrambling to get at you, there are lots of heads you can cram into a picture. The more heads you get in the frame, the more PP you get. With some good shots in the beginning, you can score 600 or more PP in a single snap!
4. Kill zombies. You gain bonus PP for every 50 zombies you kill, plus extra bonuses and achievements for extremely high numbers of dead zombies.
5. Finish cases. There are several plot points in the game, referred to as “cases.” Completing them usually results in the elimination or rescue of someone, so try and complete these. They’re worth a bundle!
6. Defeat psychopaths. Not only does defeating psychopaths keep you alive and in the game, it rewards you with a huge amount of PP and possibly some new equipment. Psychopaths are usually tied to the cases, so if you go for one, you’ll probably wind up going for both.
7. Rescue survivors. You get a massive amount of PP for escorting survivors to safety. It's not easy, by any stretch of the imagination, but it will pay off!
