Things You'll Need:
- 100% Pure Psyllium Husk - you can obtain this from Whole foods, Trader Joe's or any other organic food market. (The recommended brand is known as Colon Cleanse).
- For a supplemental shake, you will need the following:
- 1 cup of berries (strawberries, blackberries, etc)
- Soy Protein Powder (Whole Foods, etc)
- Pure Flax Seed Oil (Whole Foods, etc)
- 1 small banana (optional - reduces chalk taste of protein powder)

Step 1
For three weeks make a mixture consisting of 1 LARGE Tbsp. of Psyllium Husk and 10 oz. of water and consume it twice a day 30 minutes before breakfast and 2 hours after a dinner. Drink an additional glass of water after each pyllium water serving.

Step 2
Breakfast shake recipe: Blend all ingredients (1 cup berries, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tablespoon of flax oil, 1 cup water and banana-if desired until smooth.

For maintenance after 3 week cleanse - Drink the breakfast shake daily and 1 glass of psyllium once a day.

on 1/16/2009 This is a much milder cleanse, than some I have heard about and used, but a thorough cleanse.
You don't need to detox too quickly, you get sick/er.
"Key" is extra water with this cleanse, not just for the husks but for dilutation of eliminating toxins.

on 5/11/2008 Can someone tell me if I am reading this right. Your to take the psyllium husk and water twice a day for 3 weeks. And then after the 3 weeks take the breakfast shake and one one serving of psyllium and water before dinner.

on 3/30/2008 This makes complete sense. I give Psyllium to our horses as a maintenance to prevent 'sand' (sand buildup from eating grass,etc off the ground). Never thought of using it myself. I wonder if that which is sold for horses is of the same quality.. better price? hmmmm
