Difficulty: Moderately Easy

When You Have a Multi-Function Plate

1. Remove the tube rings-multi-function plate assembly from the telescope.
2. Begin by releasing the thumb nuts.
3. Open the hinges by using one of the three-threaded holes in the multi-function plate assembly.
4. Turn the knurled black wheel directly underneath the mounting platform on the Alt-Az mount.
5. Hold the tube rings in place while doing so to secure the telescope in place.
6. Proceed to attach the telescope main tube to the tube rings. Begin by removing the telescope tube from the paper covering.
7. Place telescope tube in between the two tube rings.
8. Close the hinges around the telescope and fasten securely by tightening the thumb nuts without over-tightening.

If You Do Not Have a Multi-Function Plate

9. Remove the tube rings-multi-function plate assembly from the telescope.
10. Begin by releasing the thumb nuts. Open the hinges.
11. Use the wrench provided in the toolkit to fasten the tube rings to the mount.
12. Proceed to attach the main tube of the telescope with the tube rings. Begin by locating the center of balance of the telescope tube. Place it in between the two tube rings.
13. Close the hinges around the telescope and fasten securely by tightening the thumb nuts.

Tips & Warnings

• Check for stability of the telescope upon completing the attachment of the mount.
• Handle your telescope components carefully as they are lightweight and fragile.
• Do not over-tighten the thumb nuts. You may have trouble in loosening them again.
