The Sky-Watcher SK804AZ3 is an 80 mm telescope with a focal ratio of f/5 and focal length of 400 mm. It is a multi-coated refractor portable telescope. Focusing this telescope is easy. You can focus it accurately to get sharper and clearer images of the objects in the sky. Here is how to focus the Sky-Watcher SK804AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Locate the focus knobs on the rear end of your telescope assembly.
Step2
Gently turn the knobs either way with an eye on the object to be focused. Choose an object in the distance, such as a license plate.
Step3
Keep rotating the knobs until you get the sharpest possible image. At this point, the sharpness of the image is the best. The sharpness would decrease if you turned the knobs clockwise or counterclockwise.
Step4
Ensure that your telescope stays focused for a while.
Step5
Repeat these steps whenever you change the lens.

Tips & Warnings

  • Focus your telescope often. Minute changes in the temperature and flexures can alter its focus.
  • Ensure that your finder scope is aligned properly and that the eyepiece inserted correctly before you begin focusing.
  • Avoid leaning on to the telescope while focusing. Doing so will disturb the balance of your telescope and you will need to adjust the tripods again.
