The Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Noise Canceling Headphones combine the very best of Bose audio technology with state-of-the-art noise canceling to deliver high quality sound. Small, lightweight and portable, the Bose headphones are designed with all the features that frequent travelers request, including separate volume control, noise reduction, easy storage and adaptable audio connectors so that you can use the headphones with nearly any audio source, including most airline audios systems. While the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 noise canceling headphones can be used simply to block out ambient noise, they really shine as headphones for an audio device. To use your Bose Comfort 2 Headphones to listen to audio with noise reduction, follow the easy steps below.

Things You'll Need:

  • Headphone connection cable
  • Audio source
  • Stereo plug adapter (optional)
  • Dual plug adapter (optional)
  • Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Headphones
  • AAA battery

    Adjust the Setting on the Audio Connector

  1. Step 1

    The audio attenuator is the plug on the end of the audio cord that plugs into the headphone. It has a "Hi-Lo" switch.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the "Hi-Lo" switch to "Hi" if you will be using the headphones with a battery-operated source like a CD player or an MP3 player.

  3. Step 3

    Turn the "Hi-Lo" switch to "Lo" if you will be using the headphones with an AC-powered source like an airline audio system.

  4. Step 4

    Insert the audio attenuator into the opening on the left (L) earcup. Push it in until the curved side is flush with the side of the earcup.

  5. Connecting the Headphones to the Audio Source

    The Bose Quiet Comfort 2 comes with a variety of adapters for the headphone plug so that it can be connected to different sources. Choose the appropriate one for your source.

  7. Step 2

    Use the headphone plug as is (3.5 mm mini stereo jack) to connect to MP3 players, computers, laptop computers, CD players, DVD players and other sources that use a 3.5 mm mini jack.

  8. Step 3

    Use the 1/4” stereo adapter with the headphone plug for home audio equipment, VCRs and other audio equipment that requires a 1/4” plug.

  9. Step 4

    Use the dual plug adapter for airline audio sources that require a dual plug.

  10. Adjusting the Volume and Using the Headphones

  11. Step 1

    Turn the volume on your audio source to low before turning it on.

  12. Step 2

    Put the headphones on, making sure that the left (L) earcup is on the left and the right (R) earcup is on the right.

  13. Step 3

    Adjust the volume on the audio source until it is at a comfortable level.

  14. Step 4

    You can make further adjustments to volume with the volume control on the headphones.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always turn the volume on your sound source to low before putting on the headphones to avoid damaging your ears.
