How to Install a Battery in the Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones

Listening to music becomes even more of a pleasure when you use the Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones. The headphones block up to 70% of all outside ambient noise by detecting low-frequency sound and generating a sound signal to counteract it. The headphones are great for travel, allowing you to enjoy your music without the background noise of a plane or motor engine. While the headphones will transmit sound without the batteries, the noise canceling mechanism requires one AAA battery to function.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sony MDR-NC6 Noise Canceling Headphones
  • One AAA battery

Step1
Locate the battery case on the right, inner side of the Sony headphones.
Step2
Grasp the case on either side with thumb and forefinger then slide the cover up and pull inward to unlock it.
Step3
Insert one AAA battery into the case, with the top of the battery toward the plus sign and the bottom toward the minus sign.
Step4
Push the battery lid back into place and slide it down to lock it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Double your listening time by using alkaline batteries in the Sony headphones (alkaline batters will give you up to 30 hours of listening time).
  • Replace the battery when power light dims.
  • Remove the batteries from the headphones if you won’t be using them for an extended length of time.
