How to Use the Cassette Player on the Sony WM-F399 Sports Walkman

Gone are the days when everyone played a cassette on their run. Since CDs can still skip and not everyone has replaced their old favorite tape cassettes with CD or MP3 versions, the cassette player on the Sony WM-F399 Sports Walkman can come in handy. Read on to learn how to use the cassette player on the Sony WM-F399 Sports Walkman.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Set the function selector to "Tape."

  2. Step 2

    Choose the proper tape setting for your cassette: Normal, Metal or CrO2.

  3. Step 3

    Open the tape door. Insert the cassette, close the door and hit "Play."

  4. Step 4

    Want to forward to the next track? Press "Stop," then "Fast Forward." Hit "Stop" again and see if you've made it to the track. Want to rewind? Follow the same steps, but use the "Rewind" button.

  5. Step 5

    Want to switch the play direction of the cassette to listen to the other side? Hit the "Switch" button.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you haven't used the unit in a while, let it warm up for a few minutes before inserting a tape by hitting "Play" with no cassette inside.
  • Do not open the cassette door while the tape is in motion; doing so will destroy your audio cassettes.
  • When using fast forward and rewind, be sure to hit the "Stop" button when the tape reaches its end; otherwise, the battery life will be quickly consumed.
