on 8/31/2009 When grandpa died, it created a tough problem for grandma’s three older sons. They were all successful businessmen located in cities on the Eastern seaboard. Grandma, however, was in Chicago. And now she was alone.
The three sons convened a meeting to discuss what to do about grandma.
“I am worried most about her security,” said John. “With grandpa gone, someone could take advantage of her vulnerability; if they broke into her house, she wouldn’t know about it until she confronted them.”
Mark said that uprooting grandma was not an option. “She would just not even consider moving East,” he said. “So we have to figure out another plan. And she certainly is not at the stage where she would be a candidate for a nursing home.”
