In order to use your Meade DS-2000 Series Reflecting Telescope you need to set assemble the Tripod first. Here are some simple steps that tell you how to attach the Mounting Arm to the Tripod.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Open the tripod by gently pulling the legs apart.

Step2
Turn the center tripod lock knob to stabilize and secure the tripod. Make sure it is tightened to a firm position.

Step3
Once you have done this you are ready to place the mounting arm assembly into the tripod base.

Step4
Reach underneath the tripod base and thread the mounting knob through the tripod base into the mounting arm assembly.

Step5
Be sure to tighten firmly, but do not over tighten.

Step6
Your mounting arm is now assembled.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can always loosen the knob and rotate the mounting arm assembly with the attached optical tube around the horizontal axis while observing.
  • Be sure to tighten firmly, but do not over tighten to avoid breakage.
  • Always loosen the tripod lock know before you close your tripod.
