How to Use a Camera Adapter With the ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Goggle

Your ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular is a versatile device and can be used with a 35mm camera or camcorder. If you are planning to use a camcorder, ensure that your camcorder has the MACRO feature. Most camcorders nowadays are equipped with the MACRO feature. For using a 35mm camera, you will need a MACRO lens. Buy a MACRO lens for your 35mm camera from your local camera store.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 35mm camera or camcorder
  • ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular
  • Camera adapter
  • MACRO lens (for 35mm camera)
  1. Step 1

    Remove the rubber eyecup blocking the eye piece of your ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular.

  2. Step 2

    Screw the camera adapter onto the front of the lens on your camcorder’s lens or your 35mm camera’s lens.

  3. Step 3

    Loosen the three set of screws that are affixed on the camera adapter.

  4. Step 4

    Place the camera adapter over the ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular’s eyepiece.

  5. Step 5

    Tighten the three set of screws so that the adapter is affixed with the eyepiece of the ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular.

  6. Step 6

    Focus the 35mm camera or the camcorder along with the Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular to get the sharpest possible image.

Tips & Warnings
  • The camera adapter typically comes with 37mm and 52mm threads. For other sizes, check out your local camera store.
  • Consider working in an open space for best results.
  • Disable auto focus on your camera or camcorder and try manually focusing the camera or the camcorder for optimum results. Once the desired sharpness is achieved, adjust the Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular’s front lens to change the focus.
  • Remember, when you are using your camera along with the ATN Night Patriot Night Vision Monocular, you are not taking a picture of an object that is far away from you.
