How to Connect the Polaroid PDV-0823A 8” Portable DVD Player to an Amplifier With Dolby Digital Decoder

If you connect the Polaroid PDV-0823A 8” portable DVD player to an amplifier with Dolby Digital decoder, you can take advantage of any Dolby sound processing, such as virtual surround effects, that has been encoded on the audio track of the DVD. Things You'll Need:

  • amplifier with built-in dolby digital decoder
  • digital optical cable
  • polaroid pdv-0823a 8” portable dvd player
  1. Step 1

    Turn down the volume on your amplifier and turn it off. Now switch off the Polaroid PDV-0823A 8” portable DVD player. During the connection process, you may generate a voltage spike that would be transmitted to the speakers if the equipment was turned on.

  2. Step 2

    Use the Audio/Video cable included with the Polaroid PDV-0823A 8” portable DVD player to make the connection. Take the audio connector and insert it in the Audio output/input port on your DVD player.

  3. Step 3
