How to Connect the Panasonic DVD-LV57 Portable DVD Player to a 2-channel Amplifier With Analog Connections

If you want a bigger sound, you can connect the Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD Player to a 2-channel amplifier with analog connections. Sure, you are tied to the 2-channel amplifier, but you get a bigger sound picture to go along with your Panasonic DVD player. Follow these steps to connect the Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player to a 2-channel amplifier with analog connections.

Things You'll Need:

  • Panasonic dvd-lv57 portable dvd player
  • Analog stereo connection cable with mini-jack connector
  1. Step 1

    Reduce the volume to a minimum and turn the Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player off. Also, turn down the volume and cut the power to the 2-channel amplifier.

  2. Step 2

    Connect the mini-jack connector end of the audio cable to the Audio Output jack on right-hand side of Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player. This jack is the last one on the right-hand side, closest to the hinge.

  3. Step 3

    Run the audio cable to the 2-channel amplifier. Put the red plug in the right input and the white plug in the left input. If your 2-channel amplifier has a line in feature, take advantage of it.

  4. Step 4

    Turn on your Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player and the 2-channel amplifier. Turn up the volume on both units to your desired level.

  5. Step 5

    Push the V.S.S button on the remote control to set the virtual sound simulation. This will simulate a surround sound effect even if you are using just 2 speakers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the remote control within 20 feet or less of the Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player for best operation.
  • If your 2-channel amplifier has Dolby Pro Logic or other sound modeling effects enabled, do not use V.S.S. The Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player’s effects will not work properly.
  • You will need an audio cable that has a stereo mini-jack which runs signal to 2 connectors. You may need to get adaptors to make your connections work.
  • Do not operate the Panasonic DVD-LV57 portable DVD player in wet conditions. You risk an electrical shock if you do so.
