Connect Using RCA
Step1
Acquire an RCA connecting cord (a cord with two plugs on each end: a red plug for the right channel and a white plug for the right channel).
Step2
Insert one of the white plugs into the back of the Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD/DVD Player. The jacks are located on the back and are labeled Audio Out. Plug it into the one labeled L.

Step4
Insert the other end of the white plug into the receiver. Look for a set of Audio In, DVD In or CD In jacks on the back of the receiver. They should look the same as the output jacks on the Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD/DVD Player. Connect the other end of the white cord into a jack for Left Audio Input.
Step5
Insert the other end of the red plug into the Right Audio Input on the receiver. Make sure it is in the same set of jacks as the white plug.
Connect Using Coaxial

Purchase a coaxial connecting cable.
Step2
Plug one end of the coaxial cable into the Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD/DVD Player. Use the jack under Digital Out that is labeled Coaxial.

Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the receiver. Use the Coaxial In jack under Digital In on the receiver.
Connect Using Optical

Find an optical connecting cable.
Step2
Connect one end of the optical connecting cable to the Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD/DVD Player. Plug it into the Optical jack.
Step3
Connect the other end of the optical connecting cable to the receiver. Plug it into the Digital In jack for Optical on the receiver.
Set Up Your Audio
Step1
Check your receiver specs. Find out if the built-in decoder is Dolby Digital or DTS, and whether your receiver accepts a 96kHz/24bit audio signal.
Step2
On your remote, press “Display” and then select Setup. Scroll down and select Audio to enter the Audio Setup menu.
Step3
Scroll down to "Digital Out." Turn this option on when you are using coaxial or optical connections.
Step4
Set the Dolby Digital option to On if your receiver has a Dolby Digital decoder.
Step5
Set the DTS option to On if your receiver has a DTS decoder.
Step6
Set 48kHz/96kHz PCM to 96kHz/24bit if your receiver accepts a 96kHz/24bit audio signal.
