How to Connect the Go Video Sonic Blue DVP745 DVD to an AV Amplifier With Analog Audio Input

Adding an AV amplifier to your home theater system can enhance your TV viewing experience. You can hook up your AV amplifier to your DVD player, even if it uses an older analog system. Follow the instructions below to connect the Go Video DVP745 DVD player to an AV amplifier with analog audio input.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • GoVideo DVP745 DVD player
  • AV amplifier
  1. Step 1

    Find the analog audio output jacks on the back side of your Go Video DVD player. These jacks are red and white and the connection will be labeled "Two Channel."

  2. Step 2

    Find the analog audio input jacks on the back of your AV amplifier. Look for the DVD or AUX input jacks on the back of your amplifier.

  3. Step 3

    Plug a composite audio cable into the DVD player. Insert the white cable into the white output jack and insert the red cable into the red output jack.

  4. Step 4

    Take the opposite end of the cable and plug the audio composite cable into the back of your stereo amplifier into the AUX or DVD input jacks. Insert the white cable into the white input jack and insert the red cable into the red input jack.

  5. Step 5

    Turn on your AV amplifier and set it to the DVD or AUX input, depending on where you plugged in your cables.

  6. Step 6

    Turn on your DVD player and insert a CD or DVD. Press "Play" on your DVD remote control to hear the DVD or CD that you selected.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you hear no sound, check your connections to make sure the cables are firmly attached.
  • Make sure that you have the right input selected on your DVD player.
  • Keep the cables out of the reach of pets and children.
