How to Connect the Coby DVD-514 Compact 5.1 Channel Progressive Scan DVD Player to a TV With Standard Connections

The Coby DVD 514 can be connected to virtually any TV by using standard video connections. The older your TV, the more likely you will be using a standard video connection. Follow the instructions below to connect the Coby DVD-514 Compact 5.1 Channel Progressive Scan DVD player to a TV with standard connections.

Things You'll Need:

  • TV
  • Coby DVD-514 Compact 5.1 Channel Progressive Scan DVD player
  1. Step 1

    Find the audio/video cable in the box of your new Coby DVD player. The cable will have red, white and yellow plugs on both ends.

  2. Step 2

    Find the video output jacks located on the back of your Coby DVD player. The video output jacks will be the same colors as the plugs on the audio/video cable.

  3. Step 3

    Plug the cable into the video output jacks of your DVD player by matching the color of the cable with the color of the jacks.

  4. Step 4

    Find the video input jacks on the back of your TV. They too will correspond to the colors of the plugs on the audio/video cable. Plug the cable into the video input jack on the back of your TV by matching the cable with the corresponding colors of the input jacks.

  5. Step 5

    Turn on your TV and your DVD player and insert a DVD into your DVD player.

  6. Step 6

    Cycle through the video inputs on your TV until the DVD you’re playing appears on the screen.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that the cables are firmly connected.
  • If you have poor audio or video quality, try replacing your audio/video cable.
