The cornerstone of an eBay auction listing is the photograph. Having a nice clear photo of the item you are selling gives the buyer a good look before bidding. Many buyers will not bid on an item unless there is a photograph. Use these pointers to create your eBay photos.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Items to sell on eBay
  • Digital camera
  1. Step 1

Decide what items need to be photographed. Include parts and accessories of whatever you're selling.

  2. Step 2

Clean the items to make them as appealing as possible.

  3. Step 3

Pick the camera you want to use. With a digital camera, you can upload photos directly to your computer. With a film camera, you will need a scanner to upload the images.

  4. Step 4

Adjust the lighting. Poor lighting may lead bidders to think that you are trying to hide a defect.

  5. Step 5

Take several pictures at different angles. You may want to include more than one photo in the listing.

Tips & Warnings
  • You do not need special training to take good photographs. Just take your time and snap plenty of pictures.
  • If you are not happy with the photos, the bidders will most likely not be happy either.
  • Do not try to hide anything when taking the photos. This is a bad business practice and could result in negative feedback.
