The cornerstone of an eBay auction listing is the photograph. Having a nice clear photo of the item you are selling gives the buyer a good look before bidding. Many buyers will not bid on an item unless there is a photograph. Use these pointers to create your eBay photos.

1. Decide what items need to be photographed. Include parts and accessories of whatever you're selling.

2. Clean the items to make them as appealing as possible.

3. Pick the camera you want to use. With a digital camera, you can upload photos directly to your computer. With a film camera, you will need a scanner to upload the images.

4. Adjust the lighting. Poor lighting may lead bidders to think that you are trying to hide a defect.

5. Take several pictures at different angles. You may want to include more than one photo in the listing.

• You do not need special training to take good photographs. Just take your time and snap plenty of pictures.
