Step1
The most important step in losing weight is first admitting to yourself that you are overweight and that you need to do something about it.
Step2
Once you have admitted that you are overweight, you need to decide on a course of action. This generally means deciding on an exercise plan and diet program. These programs need to be something that you feel will work with your lifestyle and routine, not the latest fad that everybody else is doing.
Step3
Next, be committed and don't make excuses. For example, even if you have time to only work out for 10 minutes instead of 30, then work out for the 10 minutes. Don't make the excuse that "I don't have time to do my full exercise routine, so I'll just skip it for today". Every effort you put into it helps.
Step4
Don't beat yourself up if you have set backs. If you eat a cookie, don't get upset with yourself and eat the while bag of cookie. Just resolve to do better and get back on track.
