How to Make Gumbo by Brennen Smith

The first time I had gumbo I was 3 years old.It was very good. I eat gumbo when we party when we watch football games and when it is cold. Gumbo is fun to cook and is good.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • 8 quarts cold water
  • 8-10 lbs chicken
  • 6-8 lbs sausage
  • 4 onions chopped
  • 1 bunch celery, chopped
  • 2 heads garlic cut in half
  • spices
  • rice

Step1
Get out pots and pans.
Step2
Put 8 quarts of water on high and heat skillet. Add oil and flour.
Step3
When water boils add roux. When it dissolves add chicken , sausage, onions and pepper. When it boils turn heat down and simmer for 2 to 4 hours, with lid on pot .
Step4
Just before serving add green onion and serve over rice.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also make seafood gumbo.
  • Do not touch pot it may be hot.
