The Sky-Watcher SK705AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope receives light through the objective lens. It is the closest lens to the object being viewed from the telescope. It sends the image to the eyepiece for magnification. Inserting an eyepiece in a SK705AZ3 Short Tube Refractor Telescope is a simple task. Here is how you can do it:

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Choose an eyepiece depending on the magnification level you desire.
Step2
Locate the thumbscrews on the focus tube of your telescope and loosen them.
Step3
Insert the diagonal into the focus tube and replace the thumbscrews. This will secure the diagonal at its right place. A 45 degree erect image diagonal is ideal for this telescope.
Step4
Locate the thumbscrews on the diagonal and loosen them up.
Step5
Insert the eyepiece in the diagonal and tighten the thumbscrews. Your eyepiece is now in place and you can focus the objects that you want to view from the telescope.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you keep all the thumbscrews in place to retrieve them when needed.
  • Lenses should be handled with care as they are fragile.
  • Use only the special lens paper to clean the Finderscope and eyepiece.
  • Do not overtighten the thumbscrews or they will not fit into the grooves.
  • Do not interchange the position of all screws to ensure that the assembly is proper.
