Step 1
Identify the type of Finderscope used in your telescope. It will be one from the 5x24, 6x24 or 6x30 magnification and lens models.
-
Step 2
Focus your Finderscope. To do this, twist the end of the Finderscope if you have a 5x24 or 6x24 model. If you have a 6x30 Finderscope, loosen the locking ring by unscrewing it towards the bracket. Turn the front lens holder in and out to focus. Lock it in position with the locking ring once you gain the focus.
-
Step 3
Choose an object at least 500 yards away from the main telescope and point the telescope at it. Adjust the telescope so that the object can be viewed at the center of your eyepiece.
-
Step 4
Check if the object is at the centre of the crosshairs of the Finderscope.
-
Step 5
Use the 3 alignment screws to adjust the object to the centre if you have a 5x24 or 6x24 Finderscope. In case you have a 6x30 Finderscope, use the 2 screws available.
-
Step 6
Get the magnified view of the object with a perfect alignment of the Finderscope.
