The SK707AZ2 refractor telescope is a light weight yet sturdy telescope making it an ideal companion for skywatchers. Before choosing the right eyepiece, make sure you browse through different types of eyepieces and enhance your viewing experience. Various types of eyepieces are available in the market such as Huygenian and Super Ramsden, Kellner and Plossl. Inserting an eyepiece in a telescope needs to be done with utmost care.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select an eyepiece depending on the magnification that you need.

  2. Step 2

Insert the diagonal after loosening the thumbscrews on the focus tube.

  3. Step 3

Tighten the screws. Once the diagonal is inserted, make sure that you tighten the thumbscrews on the focus tube. This will secure the diagonal into its position.

  4. Step 4

Locate the thumbscrews on the diagonal. Loosen the thumbscrews on the diagonal to allow the insertion of the eyepiece.

  5. Step 5

Re-tighten the screws once you have inserted the eyepiece.

  6. Step 6

Make sure that the eyepiece is in proper position while you are tightening the screws.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure that you do not keep the thumbscrews loose. At the same time, do not overtighten the thumbscrews. Overtightening the thumbscrews will cause a difficulty in removal of the eyepiece/diagonal.
  • Ensure that each thumbscrew is placed back into the relative position and is not interchanged with some other thumbscrew.
  • Handle the eyepiece with care as it is very fragile.
  • Make sure that you assemble the parts in broad daylight with adequate space around you. Then the working becomes simpler and you are less likely to misplace minute objects such as the screws.
  • Do not touch any optical surface while fixing the assembly.
  • Do not use any other paper to clean or wipe the lens. Use only special lens paper to clean any optical surface on Finderscope and eyepiece.
