The Finderscope is a tool mounted on a telescope to help you target an astronomical object. It is also called a Red Dot Finder. The Finderscope does not have high magnification power but is equipped with variable brightness control, azimuth adjustment control and altitude adjustment options. Here is how to attach the Finderscope to the Sky-Watcher SK707AZ2 Refractor Telescope.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Locate the Finderscope optical assembly.

  2. Step 2

Remove the thumbscrews situated at the end of the main body of the telescope.

  3. Step 3

Place the Finderscope bracket over the screws in the telescope main body.

  4. Step 4

Replace the thumbscrews at their position. This will secure the Finderscope in its place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Go through the instruction manual thoroughly before you start the assembling process.
  • Fix the assembly in broad daylight and in an area that has adequate space. This will make sure that you don’t loose any tiny parts like thumbscrews.
  • Do not interchange the position of the screws during the Finderscope attachment. This is to ensure a perfect alignment.
  • Do not touch any optical surface while arranging the assembly. You may get a blurred view.
