How to Check Video Feed From a Home Security Camera From a Computer

Home security cameras increase in popularity every year. As crime increases, people feel strongly lead to increase security in their homes for the sake of their families and personal property. Many home owners choose to use a computer to view their video feed. If you would like to do the same, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

1. Open the program on your computer that hosts the software from your home security system.
2. Depending on which program you have, click on the icon or box that indicates you would like to view the video feed.
3. Look under "File" at the very top of your screen if the option mentioned in Step Two is not on the screen when you open the program.
4. Indicate which date you would like to see once you have indicated you would like to view the feed from the video.
5. Indicate the time segment you would like to view.
6. Push "play" to view the feed from your home security camera.
7. Use the fast forward feature if you would like to skip a section.
   
8. Use the rewind feature if you would like to go back to a section.
9. Insert a blank CD into your computer and follow the procedure that appears on your screen if you would like to save a section for future use.
