How to Improve the Performance of a Wireless Home Security System

After a camera installing a home security camera, it may be necessary to adjust the device to improve its performance. Follow these steps.

  1. Step 1

    Be sure that you have your camera in the correct location in regards to lighting.

  2. Step 2

    Check the angle of the camera. Make adjustments if the image is being cut off.

  3. Step 3

    Check the height of the camera. It may be that you need to raise or lower the camera in order to improve the images.

  4. Step 4

    If your camera has a focus knob, button or lens, check its setting and adjust as necessary.

  5. Step 5

    Be sure that the camera is properly synced with the home station. Also check if the camera and home stations are both connected to their power sources.

  6. Step 6

    If your wireless camera is powered by batteries, be sure that the batteries are charged. Also, check that they have not corroded.



  7. Step 7

    Determine whether the home station is properly programmed for the functions you expect your camera to perform.

  8. Step 8

    Be sure the receiver is in the highest place possible and free of obstructions.
