How to Position the Receiver of a Wireless Security Camera

When installing your home security system, make sure you position the receiver properly. Follow these steps to do so.

  1. Step 1

    Make sure you have properly installed the camera.

  2. Step 2

    Be sure your camera has adequate lighting.

  3. Step 3

    Check the angle of the camera. Make adjustments if the image is cut off.

  4. Step 4

    Check the height of the camera.

  5. Step 5

    Make adjustments to your camera's focus knob, button, or lens as necessary for a clear image.

  6. Step 6

    Properly synchronize the camera with the home station.

  7. Step 7

    Be sure you have properly connected the camera and home station to the power source.

  8. Step 8

    Check the batteries if your wireless camera uses them. Be sure that the batteries are charged and are not corroded.

  9. Step 9

    Put the receiver in the highest location possible.

  10. Step 10

    Ensure that the receiver is clear of obstructions.
