How to Install a Wireless Home Security Camera

Home security systems enjoy increasing popularity every year. Follow these instructions to install a wireless security camera in your home.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Decide which room to install the camera in.

  2. Step 2

    Choose the best angle for the camera.

  3. Step 3

    Decide how high off the floor you want to place the camera.

  4. Step 4

    Hold the mounting bracket in place and use a pencil to mark the screw holes. Use a stud finder from a home improvement store to find an appropriate spot for mounting if the screws must be in a stud.

  5. Step 5

    If you don't need to screw into a stud, use a drywall anchor bolt to hold the mounting bracket in place.

  6. Step 6

    Select a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screws you will use to mount the bracket.

  7. Step 7

    Drill a hole into the stud or insert the drywall anchor bolt into the drywall.

  8. Step 8

    Hold the mounting bracket in place and insert the screws into the predrilled holes or the drywall anchor bolt.

  9. Step 9

    Place the camera on the mounting bracket.

  10. Step 10

    Plug the camera into the outlet or insert batteries.

  11. Step 11

    Follow the manufacturer's directions to synchronize the camera to the base station.
