How to Install a Video Surveillance Camera in a Home Office

You can purchase a video surveillance camera to protect the sanctity of your office. Follow these steps to install it.

Instructions

1. Decide in which room you will be installing the camera.
   
   

2. Decide the best angle for the camera.
   
   

3. Decide how high off the floor you want the camera.

4. Find the mounting bracket that came with the camera.
   
   

5. Hold the mounting bracket in place with one hand and use a pencil to mark the screw holes with the other hand.
   
   

6. Determine if the screw holes will be in a stud. Use a stud finder from a home improvement store if necessary.
   
   

7. If you will not be screwing the screws into a stud, you will need to use drywall anchor bolt
   
   

8. Use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the screw you will use to mount the bracket.
   
   

9. Predrill a hole into the stud or insert the drywall anchor bolt into the drywall.
   
   

10. Hold the mounting bracket in place and insert the screws into the predrilled holes or the drywall anchor bolt.
    
    

11. Place the camera onto the mounting bracket.
    
    

12. Plug the camera into the outlet.
    
    

13. Sync the camera to the base station following the manufacturer's directions.
