Using Outline view to reorder slides in PowerPoint 2003, you can quickly change the pace of your presentation. Reordering in Outline view also allows you to move information from one slide to another, fine-tuning your presentation and improving its impact.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

Step1
Open a PowerPoint 2003 presentation.
Step2
Enable the Normal view by clicking on "View," and then selecting "Normal." Now click on the "Outline" tab. Your slide show will appear as text with a slide icon next to each text group.
Step3
Left-click and hold on the icon of the slide you want to reorder. While holding down the left mouse button, drag up or down the outline. A black bar appears on the outline to show you where the slide is being moved.
Step4
Adjust the position of the black bar. When the bar is where you want the slide moved, let go of the mouse button. The slide appears in its new location.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can remove text from one slide and place it on another while you move the slides. Place the black location bar above the text on another slide. When you release the mouse button, the text below that bar appears on the slide that you were moving.
  • Save your work frequently to limit data loss in case of problems or mistakes.
  • Use caution when reordering your slides. Make sure you are not moving the wrong text from one slide to another.
