AutoCorrect in PowerPoint 2003 will automatically correct common typos and mistakes as you make them. Using this feature gives you more time to focus on creating your slideshow, and prevents common errors from spoiling your presentation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

Step1
Open a PowerPoint 2003 document.
Step2
Click on "Tools" in the top toolbar. This brings up a list of commands that can be used to alter the way that PowerPoint works.
Step3
Scroll down the list of commands on the "Tools" menu and click on "AutoCorrect Options." This opens the "AutoCorrect" window, which has several tabs.
Step4
Enable the AutoCorrect options. Check the box next to the options you want.
Step5
Click on the "OK" button. AutoCorrect will now correct designated mistakes.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don’t want AutoCorrect to handle a particular mistake, uncheck that option from the "AutoCorrect Options" menu.
  • Remember to hit the "OK" button when you have finished choosing the AutoCorrect options. If you just close the "Options" window, the changes will not be applied.
  • Be careful using "AutoFormat as You Type." Inexperienced users may introduce unwanted styles and formatting into their slides.
