In a few simple steps, you can make an Excel 2003 worksheet ready for people to use or view on the Internet. Here's how to turn your spreadsheet into a Web page.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Microsoft Excel 2003
Step1
Fill out your Excel 2003 worksheet. You will create the Web page from this version of the worksheet.
Step2
Format your worksheet. Make sure that your worksheet is formatted so it looks good enough to appear on the Internet. Save the file without exiting.
Step3
Under "File" from the toolbar at the top of the Excel window, click “Web Page Preview” on the dropdown menu. This will preview how the page will appear online. You may have to make formatting changes; if so, preview until you're finished.
Step4
Once the preview satisfies you, click “Save as Web Page" under "File." This will save your spreadsheet as an "htm" file so people can view it on the Internet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Excel will keep the original spreadsheet as an "xls" file.
  • Exclude any personal information, such as data that might facilitate identity theft, from your spreadsheet.
