How to Assemble Your Meade LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

The Meade LX90 telescope line comes almost fully ready to view the stars. Within a few minutes of unboxing and unwrapping your telescope, you will be ready to look at the many constellations in the sky. Just follow these simple instructions to assemble the Meade LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Meade LX90 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope

Step1
Remove the telescope from its packaging.
Step2
Place one of the tripod feet on the ground. Pull the other 2 feet out with your hands until the tripod is fully extended.
Step3
Place the lock knobs onto each leg of the tripod. There are 2 lock knobs on each of the 3 legs.
Step4
Remove the threaded rod from the head of the tripod.
Step5
Place the spreader bore home to the threaded rod. Place the retainer into the retaining slot on the threaded rod.
Step6
Align the spreader bar so the arms of the spreader bar line up with the tripod legs.
Step7
Attach your telescope to the top of the tripod head and tighten the tension knob on the telescope.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use only your fingers to tighten all the knobs used in mounting your tripod legs. Overtightening can strip the screws and permanently damage both the tripod and your telescope.
