How to Adjust the Squelch on the Uniden CB Radio

Want to make sure you're getting optimal signal strength on your Uniden CB? Follow these steps to adjust the squelch.

Things You'll Need:

  • Uniden CB radio
  1. Step 1

    Turn the squelch knob a full turn to the right to enable the stronger signals to get through.

  2. Step 2

    Turn the squelch knob counterclockwise until all you hear is a hiss.

  3. Step 3

    Begin turning the squelch knob clockwise until the hissing sound stops.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Dynamic Squelch setting keeps the squelch set for stronger signals.
  • In order to scan for weaker signals, be sure to turn off the Dynamic Squelch Control.
  • Adjust the squelch settings only when a strong signal is not being received.
