Want to obtain the best sound on the channel when you use your Uniden CB? Adjust the microphone gain.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Uniden CB radio
Step1
Turn on the radio and select a channel.
Step2
Locate the knob on the unit labeled RF Gain–Mic Gain.
Step3
Using the larger outer ring of the knob, turn clockwise or counterclockwise until the sound is clearer.
Step4
Check the output power by pressing the microphone PTT/transmission switch to view the reading in the function meter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before transmitting with the PC68XL CB radio, make sure you read and understand the FCC rules and regulations listed in part 95 of the Uniden instruction manual.
  • Always perform an SWR measurement before using; a ratio greater than 2:1 can damage the transmitter.
