Wax a Snowboard
Wax a Snowboard

Here's a pointer on how to take care of your snowboard so the base of your board will be running smooth and nice on your next trip to the mountains.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Snowboard Wax
  • Snowboard Scraper
  • Iron
  • Scotchbrite Sponge
  1. Step 1

Set some newspapers beneath your snowboard before waxing your board.

  2. Step 2

Set iron at medium heat, and hold iron in a perpendicular direction.

  3. Step 3

Press wax against the iron, and let wax drip onto the base of your board. Move up and down along the board as you drip the wax on the base.

  4. Step 4

Iron in the wax, making sure the base is fully covered. Be sure to not keep iron in one area too long.

  5. Step 5

Put iron aside (be sure to turn it off)and wait 15-20 minutes for wax to set and cool off.

  6. Step 6

Use the scraper to pull off any excess wax from the base of your board.

  7. Step 7

Now buff away the remaining wax that is stuck on the base of your board with the Scotchbrite (Using the rough green side).

  8. Step 8

How easy was that? Now you're ready to snowboard!

on 12/13/2008 Haven't tried to snow board yet. This sounds a little complicated, but probably because I know nothing about snow boarding.
