How to Register on eBay

Tired of going from store to store searching for something and coming up empty? eBay is an online auction site that allows people to buy and sell items via the Internet. eBay is a wonderful marketplace, like having thousands of stores, right at your fingertips. Follow the steps below to register on eBay:

• Internet access
• Computer

1. Get on the computer and log onto the Internet. Go to eBay.com to view the home page.
2. Click on the “Register” icon. This appears on the top of the screen in blue lettering.
3. Fill out the required personal information. You must provide name, address, phone number and email address.
4. Pick a name for your user ID and create a password. You will be asked to pick a question from a given list, to which you create an answer to be used if you forget your password. Your password must be 6 to 8 characters, and may contain letters, and/ or numbers.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure your user ID is easy to remember, or write it down.
• Create a password that you can easily remember.
• When creating a password, be careful of making it too simple, like 123456, in order to deter identity theft.
