Step1
Find a therpaist who specializes in repartive therapy.
You can find a referral through NARTH The National Association of Therapy of Homosexuality or through a local faith based group like Exodus International member. These are ministers, counselors, and churches in your area who really do understand where you're coming from. They are your first point of contact and help in your struggle. You will need help along the way from therapist who know about your struggle and can support you in it.
Step2
Attend a support group thse groups are a "safe container" where you can learn from each other, it is a safe place where those who are struggling with unwanted homosexuality provide mutual support to each other without judgment or criticism.
Step3
You should be surround by a small number of supportive people who will encourage you and listen to you.You can't do everything at once, and it is not a sequential process. The important thing is that you push yourself in new ways. Take new risks. Build new relationships. Try new things such things that will help you heal your inner sense and heal your connection with men or females and if religious your connection with God.
Step4
Be honest tell those who are safe what you are dealing with. Ask for their help and their listening ear as you begin to work a healing program. This is critical. You cannot change alone or in secret.

on 5/27/2008 You are the most destructive type of individual. 40%of adolescent children wind up committing suicide over things like this. If your penis does not respond to a vagina, then that is that.. If you get hard looking at another guy, guy to guy, it can be one of the most wonderful love filled lifetimes... 22 years with my lover and going strong. You are NUTS

on 9/1/2007 Yes, as everyone else has said, this is trash. Accept who you are — it can't be changed. Being gay has clear genetic and congenital causes, so 'therapy' isn't going to change that.

on 8/27/2007 What's next? How to become a Nazi??? Freedom of expression is a requirement of a truly democratic society, so I will not ask you to remove this article. Perhaps we can all pray for this misguided soul, and perhaps someone can create an article about How to be more tolerant and accepting of people who are not like I am.
