How to Create a Form Based on More Than One Table in Access 2003
You can view or enter data into multiple tables using one form in Microsoft Access 2003. For example, if you are a potter, you could create a form that shows information from both your Galleries table and your Pottery table. Forms showing data from more than one table are called "flat." Here are some steps to create a form based on more than one table in Access 2003.
Instructions
-
-
1
Open Microsoft Access 2003 on your computer.
-
2
In the Database window, click on "Forms" under the Objects menu.
-
-
3
Click the "New" button on the Database Window toolbar that appears.
-
4
In the New Form dialog box, click the wizard you want to use. A description of the wizard appears in the left side of the dialog box.
-
5
Click the name of the table or other record source that includes the data you want to base your form on. (You don't need to do this step if you selected Form Wizard or PivotTable Wizard in Step 4-you can specify the record source for the form later.) Click "OK."
-
6
Follow the instructions in the wizard.
-
7
Name your form. Make the title of your form relevant and easy to recognize.
-
8
Click "Finish." Your form is now ready to be used.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to include fields from multiple tables and queries in your form, don't click "Next" or "Finish" after selecting the fields from the first table or query in the Form Wizard. Repeat the steps to select a table or query and the pick fields that you want to include in the form, until you have selected all the required fields.
Forms can also contain other forms (subforms); these are called "hierarchical."

i.e. have two tables - client and revaluation (one-to-many relationship) Have created a form that displays all fields from my revaluation table and allows me to update this table from the form however when I try adding one field from my client table (address) it allows me to do this and works but does not allow me to then update the reval table from this form. -

if you create a form using fields from more than one table it does not allow you to update the data by typing it into that form. Any suggestions? -
