Installing RAM on a MacBook Pro
Step1
If your computer is on, turn it off. Wait for all computer components to cool down.
Step2
Unplug the power cord of your machine. Slowly pull out all other cables attached to it.
Step3
Place your MacBook Pro on a soft, dry cloth. Hard or wet surface can damage your machine.
Step4
Turn the battery compartment latch 90 degrees clockwise from its original position to open it.
Step5
Remove the battery from your MacBook Pro. Keep it in a safe place nearby.
Step6
Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the rear of the battery compartment.
Step7
Lift the metal cover and push it gently to the right to remove it. Make sure you do not bend the L-shaped metal cover while removing it. After removing the cover, you'll see the RAM compartment.
Step8
Slide the RAM into the compartment provided. If you are installing new RAM, push the lever to remove the old RAM first.
Step9
Place the metal cover back on and put the screws back in their original spots.
Step10
Lay the battery in its place and close the compartment. Turn the compartment latch 90 degrees anti-clockwise to close it.

Place your MacBook Pro back in its original position.
