Celebrating Coming of Age Day

1. If anyone you know has turned twenty over the past year, celebrate with them. In Japan, they are now considered old enough to take their place in society as an adult.
2. Go out and party if it is your day of majority and enjoy your freedom for the day.
3. Give gifts to any family member turning 20 in the coming year.
4. If no one in the family is turning 20, talk about the meaning of the day instead.
5. Dress up and attend one of the public ceremonies.
