You've found the item you've been searching for on eBay and are about to make a bid. Before you click the "Confirm" button, you may want to do some research and find the item for a lower price on eBay.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer

Step1
Visit the eBay Web site.
Step2
Use the “Search by Title” option to search for items by typing in keywords or phrases.
Step3
Try searching by description to broaden your search. Sellers do not always list their items under the correct name.
Step4
Get the best price by using “Search by Price.” Including the minimum and maximum amount you are willing to spend will narrow your search to just that price range.
Step5
Remember to account for shipping charges. You can search by location to find a similar item listed by a seller who lives close to you and lower your shipping and overall costs.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are not in a rush, wait for other auctions to be listed to find a lower price.
  • Although an item may be cheaper, higher shipping charges may outweigh the savings.
