Customer feedback is an important part of the eBay transaction process. You most likely chose to do business with this particular seller based on the seller's rating and percentage of positive feedback. And, most likely, the seller agreed to do business with you based on your percentage of positive feedback. If an eBay member has a history of poor service or slow payment, then his or her feedback will most likely reflect this, thus warning future buyers/sellers to proceed with caution. Follow these steps to leave feedback for a seller on eBay.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer

Step1
Visit eBay. The eBay homepage is full of popular items, seasonal gifts and basic information on eBay’s services. The Search window is also centrally located at the top of the homepage. This is where you will begin.
Step2
Using your user name and password, sign in to eBay. This will allow you to access your account and your “My eBay” file.
Step3
"My eBay" gives you a list of the current auctions that you are engaged in. It also gives you a detailed history of auctions that you have searched, saved and won. You can leave feedback to a buyer or seller by accessing old auctions that have been shipped and completed.
Step4
On your account page, you will find a link labeled “Feedback.” After clicking this link, you will gain access to a button labeled “Leave Feedback.”

Tips & Warnings

  • Leaving feedback is an action that should be taken seriously. It will affect the rating and reputation of the person you had the transaction with. Feedback is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Do not be afraid to leave negative feedback if a negative transaction experience was the fault of the buyer or seller. This kind of feedback helps keep eBay safe and reliable.
  • Feedback does not always have to be reserved for negative situations. Be sure to leave positive feedback to thank people who you feel worked hard to provide quality and prompt service.
  • Always make sure to check the feedback and rating of the seller before committing to any bids. If someone has a history of unsatisfied or angry customers, they are probably not the seller you are looking for.
