Access has many built-in features that can make managing your database much easier if you understand their functions. One option allows you to require the entering of data in a field.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Access 2003
Step1
Start Access.
Step2
Find the database you want to use or create a new one.
Step3
Select the field in which you want data entered in using the Design view.
Step4
Select the "Required" property box and click "Yes."
Step5
Save the changes in your database and close Access.

Tips & Warnings

  • Access 2003 can analyze the data that exists in the database while saving changes.
  • Null fields can cause problems while searching a database.
