How to Set the Squelch on the Cobra 38cbX ST CB Radio

You can use a squelch to block any signals you don't want to receive on the Cobra 38cbX ST CB radio. However, you must first set it to prevent any noise from distorting incoming signals. Follow these instructions.

Things You'll Need:

  • Cobra 38cbX ST CB radio
  1. Step 1

    Turn on the Cobra 38cbX ST CB radio.

  2. Step 2

    Turn up the volume past the point where you can comfortably listen.

  3. Step 3

    Turn the squelch knob clockwise. This will shut the gate and obstruct any signals.

  4. Step 4

    To attain the Desired Squelch Setting (DSS), turn the squelch knob counterclockwise until you hear noise.

  5. Step 5

    Rotate the control clockwise until the noise nearly. This is your DSS setting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not turn the squelch knob beyond the setting where the noise nearly stops. Otherwise, you'll block all incoming signals.
