How to Install a Pendant Light

- Pendant light
- Circuit tester
- Screw driver
- Insulated wire snippers
- Insulated pliers

Before installing, turn off the power at the source.

Remove any existing light fixture by unscrewing the fixture and untwisting the wires.

Once you have removed the old fixture, screw the pendant's bracket into the ceiling.

Attach the wires from the pendant to the wires hanging from the ceiling. Match the wires by color. Remove 1/2 inch of the colored insulation from the pendant's wires so that you can twist them into the ceiling wires.

Once you've twisted together the matching wires, attach wire nuts to secure them.

Push the wires back into the ceiling.

Attach the pendant's canopy.

Screw the connectors into the canopy after sliding the connectors over the light cable.

Install a light bulb.

Turn on the power to ensure the installation succeeded.
