Give a Eco-Friendly Gift on Valentine's Day

Your sweetie isn’t the only thing to love during the Valentine’s Day season ... love our planet too! Make room for more Valentine’s Day cards by getting rid of junk mail. It’s the perfect gift for everyone, including the dreaded giftee “who has everything.”

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • GreenDimes gift membership
  • Recycled paper
  • Mailbox
  1. Step 1

Go to the GreenDimes site (see Resources below) and buy a gift membership. GreenDimes is a subscription service that removes your or your sweetie's name from junk-mail lists. This helps save trees, water and energy. They even plant a tree a month for you!

  2. Step 2

    Print out the gift certificate.

  3. Step 3

Present the gift with a homemade Valentine’s Day card made from recycled paper, or a paper-saving electronic card from Hipster Cards.

  4. Step 4

If you are giving this gift to someone at home, try presenting it in a mailbox. You can pick one up—or order online—from stores like Home Depot.
