Things You’ll Need:
- Meade LX-90 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope
Step1
Secure the Dec and R.A. locks
Step2
Make sure you have properly connected the telescope and Autostar.
Step3
Turn on the telescope. Press "ENTER" until you see "Setup: Align."
Step4
Using the "SCROLL DOWN" key, find "Setup: Targets" and press "ENTER."
Step5
Once you press "ENTER," "Targets: Terrestrial" should appear on the screen. Press a scroll key, which should display "Targets: Astronomical."
Step6
Locate a star using the arrow keys. Choose a bright star with an unobstructed view.
Step7
Center the star in the eyepiece using Autostar's arrow keys. When you finish, press "Astronomical."
This will start the tracking motors of the telescope.
Step8
Press the "ENTER" key and hold it for a few seconds. When you release it, tracking will stop.
Step9
Repeat the steps and use the arrow keys to locate other nearby stars nearby stars. Press "ENTER" to start the tracking motors.
